We recently released “Fear Is The Devil,” and we’ve enjoyed hearing from a lot of people about their personal connections to this song. Because of the seemingly endless election cycle, we’ve also been hearing a lot about this song from a cultural perspective. Sometimes it seems like things have gotten crazy, and it feels like fear is being used to influence our decisions, even in ways that work against our own basic needs. With this on our hearts, we’ve worked with our friend, artist and video editor Tony Zajkowski, to create a new video for “Fear Is The Devil.” Our message is simple; as intelligent beings we should make every effort to use reason and compassion instead of fear to make decisions. The thing that we personally try to ask when making decisions is “is it kind?” Fear does not provide for kindness, and while “The Devil” may look appealing, he is never kind. Every person in this video has had the same choices we all have, between kindness and fear governing their actions. As much as we love the idea of “rugged individualism” in our culture, whether the world that we live in is ruled by kindness or fear is a choice that we will all make together.
